Ben Monaghan

Biography

Professionally I have eight years’ experience in a variety of roles within a Contract Research Organisation, ranging from Operations to IT, to Software Development.

I transitioned into academic life in 2015, studying Computer Science at the University of Salford as a mature student. Since graduating I have continued to pursue an academic career, having since started a PhD in Software Engineering.

As a professional Software Engineer my main focus is on Software Architectures, System Design and Software Evolution.

Research Interests

For my PhD I am focusing on Modernisation techniques for Legacy Software. Within this area my main interests are software re-engineering tools and techniques, Cloud Architectures and Design Patterns, and Containerisation.
